That is all.

What’s wrong with it? What’s right with it? I can has?

Well currently it seems as though it decided to stop delivering fuel to the cylinders while I was 5 miles from home.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:27 |

I’m confused, this is neither an E46 nor is it an E550.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:27 |

ahhhh yes . the good old stop fuel delivery shenanigans. Pump? Filter? Injectors? Fuse? Fuel level? Vehicle upside down?
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:28 |

It’s not the last two, that I’m sure of. Lol
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:28 |

I just sent you a text. Need any help?

Wife talked you into letting her have the Merc, didn’t she? Well, that happened faster than I thought. Guess I lost the office pool.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:29 |

well that sucks....
have you tried swearing at it in foreign?.. worked for me panda...
(but seriously... that sucks)

Then you’re down to figuring out the remaining 66%. Easy progress right here on the internet.
Fuse is easy to check.
Pump is also easy to check - turn on ignition and listen for pump priming. Pump has two states. Pumping or not pumping.
Now you are left with fuel filter.
I would venture to say that all of the fuel injectors have not fouled up
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:32 |

but of course... there could still be a short in your wiring/electrical which would definitely throw a monkey wrench into a banana farm

Now adays, we know that your truck is suffering from an inbalance of bodily humors. Perhaps caused by a toad or a small dwarf living in her stomach.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:36 |

That sounds really painful.

I read a story on Jalopnik one day.. dude was driving a porsche from texas to cali. Stopped at one of the convenient gas stations. Instead of gas, they had diesel by accident. Car started running like shit and eventually died.
As per Steve Lehto, keep all fueling receipts so you can have some sort of legal recourse if that’s the case.
I doubt it’s happened to you, but there is a small chance.

Puts MAGA hat on,
“That wouldn’t happen if you bought an american made truck”

THIS!!! I wish I had friends like this!!!
You’re a good dude
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:47 |

I do what I can.
Which in this case was nothing, because the tow truck came about two minutes after I texted :)
![]() 07/09/2018 at 15:59 |

my friends would just stand there with a jaw dropped and would have no idea what is happening.

With a title like that, next time it’s going to be 100 miles from home.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:34 |

It’s my 3rd vehicle that I pretend doesn’t exist most of the time.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:35 |

The odds of me driving this thing 100 miles away from home are very slim, fortunately.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:37 |
|
Nah, this thing has been sitting for 2-3 months and fired right up at lunchtime. I’m a little confused now, because I drove it for 15 minutes, then it died and wouldn’t re-start. After about 45 minutes of sitting, it fired right up again.

I don’t know Japanese though.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:38 |

Yeah, as a rule, I don’t drive my Dodge further than I could conceivably walk or get family/friends to pick me up.

Depends on the tailpipe diameter I suppose.

First digit of the VIN is a 5...

Much appreciated, thanks! !

that was the joke, I know they are made in the states, just like my pathfinder is

Oddly, she has not - - I got this stupid thing going so I could run to Home Depot for mulch, actually.
I’ve actually been trying to entice her to switch for a day so I can take her car in for a *free* service at the dealer and she won’t do it. :/
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:44 |

Doh, I’ve had a long afternoon, so any joke will fly right over my head.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:44 |

BAKA !
its easy :p
(well... it just means idiot but its the only one i know of the top of me head.... )
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:44 |

That’s enough though, isn’t it?? :)
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:45 |

hopefully :)
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:46 |

It’s hot out, and it happened a ways from home - too much of a PITA for me to deal with, so I had it towed to a good indy shop within walking distance of home.
The thing has been somewhat neglected the last year or two, and I need to either fix about 5 things on it or just dump it.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:51 |

So, you’re suggesting a bloodletting then?
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:51 |

Yes he is.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:52 |

well your shitty american made truck broke down, so it’s expected.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 16:52 |

Yeah,
duh.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 18:45 |

That’s odd. Maybe she’s on to you.

“Kuso” is analogous to “shit, ” if the shreds of Japanese that I remember from anime are at all correct.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 19:40 |

Eh, it’s a long story, mostly because she feels the need to clean out the crap in her car before it goes in, and she doesn’t want to do it.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 20:09 |

I think it’s a female thing. My wife is always concerned with straightening up the house before the cleaning ladies come. She says it’s to get clutter out of the way so they can clean better, but I’m pretty sure it’s as much that she wants her house presentable before anyone sees it.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 20:38 |
|
We do that too - for the same reasons I think.
In my wife’s case though, her car is a disaster area- not that it really matters for an oil change.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 20:52 |
|
Maybe lucky then that she doesn’t drive your new car.
![]() 07/09/2018 at 22:05 |

considering how often i say that... i should have remembered that one
thank you :)
williamses car is as good as fixed now :p
![]() 07/10/2018 at 00:16 |

For a day or two, it’s fine - any longer than that, and I have a lot of cleaning to do when I get it back. I have an umbrella in the front passenger seat, the infant car seat in the back, and that’s *it*.

could have water in the tank. There is something called dry gas - dries out the water in the tank. I tried it. Worked. Of course I have no idea how much water was in the tank of a suburban. Either way. It could be.
